Well, this is my entry for the Pencil Club ID contest...

I didn't quite know what to draw for this...it took me a while to come up with something decent and I made a whole bunch of thumbnails and different designs and the such...the basic concept behind it was to create more of a logo based ID since yeah, I watch the club and people submit a wide variety of different things (portraits, fantasy, surrealism, etc.) so I didn't want to focus on one subject as I felt it wouldn't be representative of the club..so yeah, I decided to draw a pencil and work of of that and this is the result...

symbolism? why yes, besides the obivous of the pencil standing for the pencil club and all, the flexible pencil is supposed to represent the fluid ideas in the artists mind, the physical entity of the pencil itself is rigid, but graphite artists know how to make them work in a way that captures their flow of ideas/concepts on paper...the "club" being etched out on paper represents the ever-changing nature of the club, with new members, new styles, new talents, and new works on a daily basis...
