:bulletblue:THE PENCIL CLUB GUIDELINES

:bulletblue:To Join
All you have to do is send us a note (click here to do so) with ‘join’ as the subject.  We’ll send you a reply telling you we've added you as a member and we'll put you up on the members list ASAP. =)  You will also be added to our devwatch.  This is for the purpose of sending notes from time to time to inform you of changes in the guidelines and to alert you to upcoming contests.  Please DO NOT send a submission along with your request to join.  Wait until you've received a reply from us letting you know you've been added to the membership before you send your first submission.  And please be patient as we only add new members approximately twice a week.

:bulletblue:Notes:
We recieve a huge amount of notes every day. And for us to able to submit your drawings/handle joining applications in time - we need you type in the correct subject. These are the only acceptable subjects if you wish to send us a note:

Submit a drawing: "Submit" or "Submission"
Join the club: "Join"
Ask a question: "Question"
Other matters: "Other"

If you've got a more urgent matter and wish to be contacted as soon as possible, please send a note to either majah or rotane.

:bulletblue:To submit a drawing
Please send a note to ThePencilClub with the thumb-link for your deviation, it looks like-> :thumbx: (x for the numbers).  For members who don't know how to do this, just copy/paste the URL on to the note and DA will make a it link for you.  Because of the number of submissions we receive, we only take one submission at a time per artist.  We submit these in the order in which they are received.  When you send something to us to be submitted, you will receive a note back from us letting you know when it's been added to the latest journal.  It might take up to 4 weeks before it is added so please be patient.  Once you receive a note from us letting you know your submission has been added to the journal, then you may submit another. This is just to ensure that no further backlogging happens. :new:->If you send us two submission notes or more at a time anyway, the last note will be deleted without being submitted, it would be unfair to the other members if we would allow to submit these anyway. To make clear, you are only allowed to send one note at a time, when you have received a note back from us that your work has been submitted, then you may send us a new one! Also, we want ThePencilClub to reflect our best possible work so please don't send any unfinished pieces or scraps! Read our journal "Submissions Solution!" for guidelines on the quality of your submissions.

:bulletblue:Regular cleanups...
Of our submission journals will occur after 3 weeks.

:bulletblue:Work must be ORIGINAL!
The Pencil Club will only accept work that is original and not copied from the work of another artist. You may use photos for reference but please make sure if you use them that you have permission from the photographer or that they are stock photos. This does not count if the pic is of a celebrity. ;)  These are not only our rules, but the rules of DA as well.

:bulletblue:Pencil only.
The work that you submit to the pencil club must be done with a medium that comes in pencil form...i.e. normal graphite pencils, coloured pencils, charcoal pencils etc.  NO pen, paint, digital etc.  Minimal amounts of these media will be tolerated within a deviation but the large percentage of the work must be done with pencil!!! That’s why we are The Pencil Club ;)

:bulletblue:NO COMMENTING HERE!
Please try not to comment on a thumbnail in the journal that it appears in. It is very simple just to click on the link and comment on the artist's page, instead of ours. That way, the artist will also be able to appreciate your comment. :)
